Development of a protection concept and detailed planning of a return structure
Due to a planned extension to the existing Gramai Alm, several variants for flood protection were investigated based on a possible outburst of the Falzthurnbach in the event of a design event. Based on this variant study, detailed planning was carried out, which provided for a return structure upstream in the area of an existing ford. With the help of this measure, the Gramai Alm will be sustainably protected from a left-bank outburst of the Falzthurnbach in the future, as the stream will be diverted back into the original streambed in the event of an incident. On the one hand, this will protect the alpine pasture buildings and tourist infrastructure, and on the other, the agricultural alpine pastures will no longer be overflown with debris by the Falzthurnbach.
