Job:

Water reservoirs are potentially at risk from mass collapse-induced impulse waves and must be investigated in accordance with the guidelines of the Austrian Reservoir Commission. Such impulse waves can be caused among other things by snow or ice avalanches. The size of the primary wave depends on the volume, width, density, thickness, etc. of the avalanche. The decisive avalanche is characterized on the basis of the calculated avalanche dynamics.
In the course of the project, a processing strategy was developed to identify the relevant input variables, optimize the simulations and present the results in a meaningful way
